Gabe Witcher is a Grammy winning Artist/Producer/Composer/Arranger best known for his work with the genre-bending acoustic quintet, Punch Brothers. Mr. Witcher has over 35 years in the music business and has become a first call musician/arranger of choice for luminary artists, producers, and composers alike, including Paul Simon, Elton John, The Coen Brothers, T Bone Burnett, Sara Bareilles, Randy Newman, and two MacArthur “Genius” Grant winners, Chris Thile and Rhiannon Giddens. Gabe also frequently composes for and appears on film and television scores including The Hunger Games, True Detective, Toy Story, Cars, Sons of Anarchy, Better Call Saul, Nashville, and Oscar Winners Brokeback Mountain and Babel.
Punch Brothers won the 2018 grammy award for Best Folk Album. Gabe holds 9 previous nominations as an artist and producer. Gabe has been music director for Kennedy Center Presents: American Acoustic w Chris Thile - All Star Jam, Sara Bareilles "Amidst The Chaos" Album Release Promotional Tour & her performances on Saturday Night Live, Ellen, and others, The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: Red Bull Music Festival Los Angeles (2019), Another Day, Another Time: f/ the music of Inside Llewyn Davis - Los Angeles (2013).
He has also debuted new music with first rate symphonies around the world, including the Boston Pops, San Francisco Symphony, and l”Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne. In 2014 he became an Affiliate Scholar at the Oberlin Conservatory. Gabe is currently Co-Composing the score to the upcoming series “Motherland: Fort Salem” with Emmy winning composer, Brandon Roberts.
